    Description

    Update 6-20-2021;
Thanks for inquiries from techies and engineers in Brooklyn New York, Seattle Washington, and Santa Fe New Mexico. Unfortunately I cannot offer shipping unless it’s in Tucson-Phoenix area, and that is quoted on a per mile fee after purchase. I’ve also heard from numerous people who are restoring vintage Airstream trailers (and Silver Streak, etc.) that would love to own this machine. Of course they do… Imagine not having to pay a fabricator an hour to rivet panels of aluminum together to match the missing panels on their trailer. This machine would pay for itself in the first 6 hours of use.
Unfortunately I cannot possibly do the crating and shipping, Even if I did the shipping cost would be about 00, yes… I agree ... pretty absurd.
I am reducing the price and hope this will spark some interest in serious collectors and restorers of anything that requires riveting whether it’s vintage aircraft aluminum or other materials. One inquiry was from the owner of the famous Fantasy Van, The brass van art car ( see site Art Car World dot org), that has over 6500 rivets in it, that’s totally crazy!
Vintage Aluminum: I’ve heard they have a variety of trailers including airstream, Anderson, Spartan, air float, boles, etc.
Also, thanks for the wonderful notes of enthusiasm and encouragement from members of tin can tourists , and sisters on the fly, gotta love those people... crazy as cuckoo birds but with hearts of gold.
For those who are interested in vintage trailers that are fully restored or simply gutted vintage trailers (aka a blank canvas) you should check out the website called vintagealuminum dot com
This listing is for a vintage riveting machine.
It is industrial grade by design, not a home hobbyist type.
It is approx. 70 to 80 years old.
This is for LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY.
No crating, shipping or other transfer available.
This is from a non-smoking home.
INDUSTRIAL RIVETING MACHINE - VINTAGE 1940-50s
    CHICAGO RIVET & MACHINE CO.
    Machine No. 15 7995
Made in Bellwood, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago)
    Year: Circa 1941-1951
Vintage: This is approx. 70 to 80 years old.
Power: This has a standard 2-prong plug for 110. It does not appear to be 220, nor does it appear to have any type of invertor or other 220-to-110 conversion.
Weight: Approx. 300 lbs, or more.
I don’t know what size rivets this machine uses. It may be adjustable for varied size of rivets, not sure.
No rivets included with this machine... I don’t have any rivets.
    IMPORTANT NOTE RE SHIPPING:
eBay formatting is having issues with formatting for stating “Local Pick-up Only”... Though it may state that I offer shipping, I do not. Though it may state some absurdly low shipping fee, I do not ship so there is no shipping fee to state.

This rare riveting machine will be of interest to general metalworkers, machinists, , sculptor, and to anyone restoring vintage airplanes or vintage travel trailer.s.As an example, Airstream trailers are made with a riveted aircraft aluminum exterior. This machine might come in handy for such project or new builds. No guarantee that this will perfectly fit your riveting needs. Please do your own research before buying.
Condition: This is in good condition, especially for being approx. 70 to 80 years old.
I have not plugged it in or tested it in any way.
This is sold as-is. I don’t know if it works or needs repairs.
That I can see, it needs a new belt, and the clutch pedal either needs adjustment, reconnection or a rebound spring.
I have done a little cleaning on this machine, only with windex, not with WD-40, or any degreasers or other industrial cleaners.
I haven’t done any repairs or restoration.
This machine has the standard surface wear & scratches from years od use with previous owner/fabrication shop.
To my knowledge this looks complete, just needs a ew belt and professional testing of the electrical cord, and the machine movement and motor operation. I leave that up to the buyer.
This is from a non-smoking home.
Shipping: No shipping is available. No crating is available.
I don’t have time or equipment to be crating and transferring
this machine to a freight hauler... no exceptions.
